Lifeprint event

Modified: Wednesday, Oct 10th, 2012

Caleb Litter, 8, above, gets his biometric palm print taken during the child safety event held at Sawicki Motors Friday and Saturday. DNA Lifeprint has started to take palm prints since 40 percent of prints found at a crime scene are palm prints. All of the prints taken were digital and scanned onto a disk for parents to take home and store. Mike Meyers, of Sawicki Motors, said he thought the event was a good opportunity for the kids parents and the turnout was good. Above, right, Dominic Powers, 5, makes a lion at the event. Parents and grandparents were able to bring a child to the event and would go home with a DNA kit in case anything would happen to the child in the future the family would be prepared. Sawicki Motors gave out popcorn and cotton candy, and provided crafts for the kids. At right, Powers gets his fingerprints taken by a DNA Lifeprint employee. (Photos by Katie Peterson)
