Marvin B. Hartley

COMPTON — Marvin B. Hartley, 71, of Compton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

He was born Nov. 15, 1940 in Mendota, the son of Elliott and Evelyn Hartley. He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Hawley on Nov. 18, 1961.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; a son, John Hartley of Compton; a grandson, Evan Meyer Hartley; five step-grandchildren; two brothers, Douglas (Jill) Hartley of Compton and Mick (Barb) Hartley of Mendota; and a sister, Catherine.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Robert Alan Hartley and a daughter, Brenda Hawley Hartley.

Visitation was held on from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8 at Torman Funeral Home, 510 Flagg Street, Paw Paw.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Torman Funeral Home. Pastor Ken Foster will officiate. Interment will follow in Melugin Grove Cemetery in Compton.
