Eswood Lions declared 2012 Meridean Conference volleyball champions

SYCAMORE — The Meridian Conference held their Seventh and Eighth Grade Coed Volleyball Tournament at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Sycamore on Tuesday.

The Eswood Lions went in as the number one seed after finishing the regular season with a 7-1 record, and they left the tournament as champions.

Eswood defeated Steward in the semi-finals and the Creston Colts upset number two-seeded Cornerstone to reach the finals.

Eswood defeated Creston 25-12, 25-19 to claim the Meridian Conference volleyball championship. Eswood is coached by Patti Price.
