Golf team prepares for a pair of conference meets this week

LASALLE — The Rochelle Township High School golf team went 2-1 on Monday afternoon, defeating both Streator and LaSalle-Peru and falling to Geneseo.

More importantly than shooting a 172 or beating two teams on Monday, head coach Glen Meghrings said he was proud of how his kids played Senica’s Oak Ridge golf course, especially because that is where they will return to on Wednesday for the NIB-12 Conference Meet.

Brendan O’Rorke and Aaron Mehrings led the Hubs as both shot a 41 and Dakota Johnson and Zack Pauser followed with a 44 and 46, respectively.
