On Sept. 21, more than 900 CPAs took part in the Illinois CPA Society’s CPA Day of Service. Illinois CPAs volunteered in all corners of the state, doing all types of volunteer work. They were easily identified by their green shirts. Walters Accounting employees Silene Walters, CPA, and Laura Norlin, CPA, joined their follows CPAs at the Rockford Rescue Mission and served a meal to the homeless. This is the third year that Walters Accounting employees served the homeless for CPA Day of Service. “CPA Day of Service shows that hope can shine through during uncertain times,” said Elaine Weiss, Illinois CPA Society President and CEO. “With their wide range of skills and big hearts during these still difficult economic times, the efforts of CPAs have a tremendous impact on communities throughout the state.” For the complete article see the 09-25-2012 issue.
