OREGON — The Ogle County Board voted Tuesday night to take the first step in possibly constructing a new administration building for the sheriff’s department.
In a 19-4 vote the board approved to release a request to six area architects for proposal with a due date of Oct. 5. The Long Range Planning Committee will then narrow down the proposals and interview a minimum of two architects. No county funds will be spent in this initial phase. The 2013 budget will have an allocation of $250,000 to spend on plans should the county decide they want to proceed.
Several county board members questioned the need to build at this time.
