How often do you hear someone say “I love going to work?” Rochelle Police Department Officer Aaron Rodabaugh does.
“I love going to work and knowing that I might see something I have never seen before and probably wouldn’t have ever seen it if I didn’t do this job,” he said.
Being a police officer allows Rodabaugh to experience just that. “I also enjoy being faced with problems and trying to work with people to find a solution.”
Rodabaugh has been with the RPD for eight years.
“I can’t even remember what made me want to be a police officer,” he said. “I was telling people I wanted to do this job when I was 12.”
Rodabaugh started his career as a police officer in a smaller department with fewer resources. “When I started in Rochelle the technology far surpassed anything I had worked with before.”
Having those technologies available makes an officer’s job easier and allows for utilization of an officer’s specialized training.
Rodabaugh is trained as a field officer, juvenile officer and breath alcohol operator. He has additional training in rapid deployment, interview and interrogation and accident investigation.
