CRESTON — Marjorie M. Betts, 83, Creston, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Serenity Home in Oregon.

She was born on February 3, 1927 in DeKalb County, the daughter of Fred and Barbara Schubert Heal.

Marjorie married Kenneth Wayne Betts. Prior to retiring, she worked as the post master at the Creston Post Office.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Betts; two brothers, Melvin Heal and Clifford Heal; and a sister, Eleanor Foster.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Betts of Creston; daughter, Kristi Betts of Madison, Wis.; and a brother, Francis “Bud” (Barbara) Heal of Texas.

A memorial service will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston.
