OREGON — The Ogle County Board room was filled with citizens and employees Tuesday night as the board voted down the Finance Committee’s insurance recommendation of IPMG/UCCI and instead voted to go with Query Insurance Company based out of Rochelle. The hour long discussion ended with an 11-11 tie, which is considered a defeat and was followed with a new motion to accept Query Insurance.
Query Insurance has carried the county’s health insurance since 1993 and offered the lowest bid to the Finance, Revenue and Insurance committee. Query began servicing the county in several insurance capacities in 1986 before taking over the health insurance. The committee met on July 8 and voted 4-3 to recommend IPMG/UCCI as the county’s new insurance carrier.
