ROCHELLE After three meetings discussing what is a sign and what is appropriate height, size, location and time planning and zoning commission agreed to an updated sign ordinance for the city Monday night.
The Rochelle Planning and Zoning Commission and Staff have been given the revised ordinance review with the discussed changes, revised definitions, and clarity to some of the existing Signage, explained building inspector Kip Countryman.
Updated definitions include banner, building sign, community event sign, pennant, projecting sign and seasonal banner. Community event/Special group signs are advertising an event of public interests, such as church fairs, concerts and community dinners.
