ARLINGTON HEIGHTS The St. Paul Lady Crusaders win streak dating back to Jan. 26 was snapped on Friday morning by Hoyleton-Trinity in the quarterfinal round of the Lutheran School Association State Tournament.
The Lady Crusaders (22-7) fell 44-25 in the early morning matchup against a bigger Hoyleton-Trinity team.
It was not our best performance, we basically just got out worked by a bigger team, St. Paul head coach Fred Wren said.
Hoyleton-Trinity scored the opening basket before the Lady Crusaders answered with four points, but Rochelle would be held to mark the rest of the first quarter. St. Paul continued to miss shots as Hoyleton-Trinity dominated the boards for an 11-4 first quarter lead.
