CRESTON — Winter weather and snow removal was once again the topic at this month’s Village of Creston board meeting held Tuesday, Feb. 4. Village president Tom Byro mentioned the great efforts of village employees keeping streets clean.
“I gotta give him (Curtis Loyd) credit,” said Byro. “With Mike Kern’s help, and the township’s help, we’ve been struggling, but making it through.”
At last month’s meeting, the board addressed the concerns regarding Beck Road, with the blowing and drifting snow prompting thoughts about possibly having to close that road in extreme conditions. Due to this winter’s unusually harsh winds and frequent snows not seen in recent years, village employees have been especially hard hit with snow removal. The board discussed possible options of looking into purchasing newer equipment to help with snow removal.
