CRESTON — What started as one family’s idea is now being enjoyed by the entire Village of Creston.
Seven years ago, the Sarver family constructed an ice rink approximately 15 feet wide by 40 feet long in their backyard.
The rink was enjoyed by the Sarver children as well as a small group of friends until the family built a garage, eliminating space for the rink.
“After a few years we lost the yard space due to building a garage,” Lonie Sarver said. “My boy, Skyler, was looking for other options to keep an ice rink going.”
Sarver went on to explain that Skyler and his friend, Michael Daugherty and his father, Terry, began looking at constructing the rink in the Daughtery’s backyard.
