ROCHELLE –– Rochelle Township High School superintendent Jamie Craven reported to the board that enrollment figures are remaining constant compared to the previous school year during the Oct. 21 board meeting.
RTHS currently has 920 students enrolled in the high school as of Oct. 1, only 9 students fewer than last fall. Craven does not expect to see an increase in enrollment numbers over the next few years based on enrollment in the Rochelle area elementary schools.
“As we have experienced year after year, our district and our feeder districts are of high mobility,” stated Craven explaining the projected future enrollment numbers might vary.
During the meeting board members unanimously approved participation in the Greater Rochelle Area Marketing Initiative. The committee will include the high school, the city as a whole, GREDCO, Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, Rochelle Community Hospital, Flagg Rochelle Park District and Rochelle Elementary School District.
