ROCHELLE — The residential refuse collection for the City of Rochelle has been re-routed to improve efficiency and continue commitment to be environmentally conscious.
Each household in the City of Rochelle, east of Il Route 251 (Seventh Street) and the Askvig Subdivision will have their garbage and landscape waste collected on Mondays, beginning Nov. 4. Residents west of IL Route 251 (Seventh Street) will have their garbage and landscape waste picked up Tuesdays, beginning Nov. 5.
For residences located on IL Route 251 (Seventh Street), garbage and landscape waste from households on the east side of the street will be collected on Mondays and garbage and landscape waste from households on the west side of the street will be collected on Tuesdays.
Please note that garbage, landscape and recycling will all be collected on the same day. Please have the landscape containers clearly marked with an “X” so they can be distinguished from the garbage. The size of the containers is limited to no larger than 33-gallons and weighing no more than 50 pounds. Landscape waste can also be put into the paper landscape bags. Clear plastic bags will not be collected.
