ROCHELLE –– The Rochelle Masons will host their fourth annual whole hog pork chop sandwich dinner on Saturday, Oct. 19 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Sullivan’s parking lot.
Chairman Bud Norcross explained the dinner is the main fundraiser of the year for the Rochelle Masons.
Throughout the year, Rochelle Masons support local high school students through annual scholarship and entry fee waiver in the scholastic bowl. Every year the fraternity donates to local groups in need. Last year, Rochelle Masons donated money from the hog dinner to the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry.
“In past years the fundraiser was very successful,” Norcross added. “It is strictly a drive-thru dinner and normally the whole hog is gone by the end.”
Norcross encourages community members to attend the drive thru dinner.
“It is good food and goes to support local charities and organizations,” he said.
Norcross added, many Rochelle Masons members and business partners donate their time and treasure to make the hog dinner a successful fundraiser.
Sullivan’s Foods, Rochelle News-Leader, First State Bank, Technicut Engraving, Bearrows Auction, and Roush Trucking sponsor the fundraiser. Local farmer Don Huftalin donated the hog.
