Last minute death row confession

STARKE, Fla. — A Florida man who had been on death row for 24 years for murdering a former Oregon woman in 1986 was executed by lethal injection Tuesday evening, and according to witnesses and reporters, prior to being put to death he admitted to the murder of Angie Crowley.

William Happ was arrested and subsequently sentenced to death after being convicted for the kidnap, rape and murder of 21-year-old Crowley in 1986. Crowley had moved to Florida from Oregon five months before her death.

On Oct. 15 at 6:02 p.m., EST, Happ’s execution began. He was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m.
