ROCHELLE — City of Rochelle employees will have new insurance coverage Nov. 1 as council members approved a proposal to switch the city’s coverage to a new plan.
Currently, the city has a self-insured health plan through Query Insurance Agency, administered by Cypress Benefit Administrators with a health plan year expiring on Oct. 31. With the rising cost in health insurance premiums and related budget concerns, city staff solicited proposals for the second year from two broker agencies — Williams-Manny and Query Insurance.
The city provided both agencies with pertinent data, including past claims histories, deductible and out-of-pocket structures as well as current plan design. Both agencies had the option to propose fully-insured and self-insured options.
