ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Fire Department will hold the department’s annual “Fill the Boot” fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Cypress House.
The Fill the Boot fundraiser is an annual fundraiser fire departments across the nation participate in to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In past years, members from the Rochelle Fire Department have driven around town on Labor Day weekend in a fire truck and collected money from residents. This year they will be serving food and collecting money in a boot at the Cypress House farmers market, 718 Tenth Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proceeds raised at the farmers market will be split between the department’s annual scholarship and the MDA.
