CHETEK, Wis. ó Bertran Jean Bearrows was called home to his Lord and Savior on Sept. 10, 2013, while on a fishing trip in Canada with his church menís group.
He was born on July 14, 1942, son of Jean and Myrtle Bearrows of Lindenwood. He married Doris Batty on July 11, 1964. They were married 49 wonderful years and had four loving children.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged. He retired in 2006 and then started his real passion of hunting and fishing full-time. He also enjoyed capturing his familyís and friendsí memories with his love of photography.
He recently purchased his dream house in Chetek, Wis., and has been enjoying fishing out his back door. He was a member, elder, usher, trustee, and foundation board member of Epiphany Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Doris (Batty) Bearrows of Chetek, Wis.; father, Jean Bearrows of Lindenwood; siblings, Dennis (Lorraine) Bearrows of Chana, Lynn (Richard) Olson of Sandwich, and Beth (Joe) Rangel of Stillman Valley; children, Paul Bearrows of Sheldon, Wis., Cheri (Dale) Dixon of Holcombe, Wis., Todd (Fatima) Bearrows of Haymarket, Va., and Christina (Josh) Swartz of South Whitley, Ind.; and 11 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Bearrows.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Our Redeemer/Epiphany Lutheran Church, 601 Fall Street, Eau Claire, Wis., with Pastor Russ Kampfer officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the church from 5 to 8 p.m., and again one hour prior to services. Burial will take place in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wis.
