ROCHELLE — Nearly 500 people took the opportunity to tour the new Lincoln School Saturday when the Rochelle Elementary District Board of Education hosted an open house of the new school.

“We had about 500 people attend on Saturday. We had many positive comments on the design and welcoming atmosphere of the school,” superintendent Todd Prusator said.

The design and details of the building were a collaboration between teachers and board members.

The building was created with four pods to separate grade levels and give teachers their own space. Once entering the school, the cafeteria is on the left and school offices are on the right. Past the office the pods split off the main hallway into their own color-coded sections.
