HILLCREST Hillcrest Village attorney Paul Keller updated trustees on current issues at the Wednesday evening board meeting, with the first pertaining to a deteriorating building located at 400 Wayne Street.
As promised in previous meetings, Keller attended court on July 18 for the building. The property owner did not appear. As a result, the case was pushed back to Aug. 29.
At this point, our intention is to have Casper [Manheim, building inspector] in court and have him testify, said Keller.
Keller continued and said that after the missed court date, the owner of the property called to say that he has been busy but wants to make arrangements to tear the building down. Keller agreed to let the property owner set this up, under the condition that it must be done by the Aug. 29 court date. Both men agreed to this.
