HILLCREST — Prior to the discussion on the “Assault Weapon Ban Ordinance” on Wednesday night, Hillcrest officials made decisions on housekeeping items, including an agreement with the City of Rochelle over wastewater financing.
In a unanimous vote, the trustees approved the amendment to the wastewater agreement with Rochelle, as discussed last month. Mayor Whalen reported that Rochelle Municipal Utilities will give Hillcrest $100,000 to contribute toward the Hillcrest sewer project.
This money will be used to finance a sewer under the creek and provide a connection at the corner between Scott Avenue and River Road. The money will be recovered through household connection fees in Hillcrest.
