ROCHELLE—In order to aid the efforts of the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, area Casey’s General Stores, including those in Rochelle, Creston and Hillcrest, will accept donated items for the entire month of May during hours of operation.
Rochelle store manager Jennifer Irving said that the purpose of helping the food pantry right now is to inspire giving back in the off season.
“After the holiday season, a lot of people lose sight of the fact that people are still in need of help. There is always time to give back to the community. Kids will be out of school soon and there will be a greater need for help,” said Irving.
The three stores will accept non-perishable food items, as well as paper products and bars of soap, as those are the items that the food pantry is in need of most right now. All three stores will be open 24 hours beginning May 5. The Hillcrest store is located at 215 Powers Road, the Rochelle location is located at 330 South Seventh Street and the Creston store is located at 204 IL Route 38.
