ROCHELLE — The Flagg-Rochelle Public Library, is three weeks into their winter reading challenge. This past summer, library directors set the goal for locals to read 250,000 pages.
By Aug. 31 this past year, locals more than exceeded the goal by reading a total of 385,279 pages.
Library youth services director, Connie Avery, said that in only three weeks of implementing the winter reading program, she has already received a total of 26,934 pages. The pages are recorded by picking up a slip from either one of the two circulation desks. Participants then just read, fill out the slip and return.
