Ingredients for Healthy Living: Bean Basics
This class is an exploration of the legume (bean), a budget friendly food packed with nutritional benefits. Jo Cessna, Healthy Culinary Instructor, explains the different varieties of beans and how to properly select, store, prepare and freeze them. Learn how to incorporate them into soups, spreads, burgers and salads through a variety of cooking methods. Recipes and tastings provided. Sessions meet Jan. 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Hyvee Club Room. A repeat of this series is offered on Jan. 31, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the same location. The fee for this class is $10 per person.
