ROCHELLE—Now that Christmas is over and a “New Year” is around the bend, there is no better time to break out of a routine and try something new, especially for students with a little extra time on their hands. Thankfully for students, the Flagg-Rochelle Park District has a few winter activities that will provide ways to get active and have fun in the few weeks that are free from homework.
One of the first activities is a day trip of skiing, snowboarding or tubing to the Villa Olivia Park District in Bartlett on Friday, Jan. 4. Residents and non-residents ages seven and up may sign up ($42 for residents/$47 to nonresidents) to hit the slopes, which range from beginner to advanced. The park district will provide transportation, an optional one-hour ski or snowboarding lesson and a lift ticket. The group will meet at 9 a.m. and return approximately at 7 p.m. The minimum number of participants is six people and the maximum is 10.
