ROCKFORD — Isaac “Ike” Lee Davis, 80, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1932 in Rochelle, the son of Charles Allen and Amanda Kathryn Meacham Davis. He married Doris Simms on June 7, 1956 in Rochelle.
Ike served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for and then retired from Rochelle Municipal Utilities.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Dean Davis, who was killed in action in the Korean Conflict, and his infant son, Michael.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Davis of Rockford; daughter, Rebecca Jean (Neal) Warren of Rockford; brother, Doneal (Dot) Davis of Spokane, Wash.; sister, Doris Jane (Arthur) Sanders of Columbus, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 north Sixth Street, in Rochelle. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22 at Unger Horner. Burial will be at the Trinity Memory Gardens, Rochelle, with Military Services provided by the Eastern-Lee Ogle Honor Guard.
