ROCHELLE—Judy Lynn Finnestad, 60, passed away at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born Oct. 13, 1952 in Rochelle, the daughter of Wayne and Mary Ann Hufford Baker. She married Ronald Finnestad on Sept. 1, 1995 in Rochelle.
She was a certified Emergency Medical Technician, worked at Del Monte and then as an insurance producer for Kathy Richter at State Farm.
She loved bow hunting and nature, was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was chairman of the Evangelism Committee and the Fellowship Committee.
Judy was very active in Northern Illinois Tres Dias and with her wonderful reunion sisters. She participated in more than 20 Relay for Life events. Whatever Judy did, she did it well!
Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Baker.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ron Finnestad, of Rochelle; parents, Wayne and Mary Ann Baker of Rochelle; two sons, Paul McLoud of Franklin Grove and Christopher McLoud of Rochelle; four step-children, Todd (Shelly) Finnestad of Holland, Mich., Troy (Monique) Finnestad of Holland, Mich., Yvette and Nicole Finnestad of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Gary (Lori) Baker of Chana and Dave Baker of Rochelle; two grandchildren, James and Elizabeth McLoud; eight step-grandchildren; and two very dear friends, Jenifer Holtzclaw and Joani Whaley.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle with Reverend Greg Hoffman officiating. The visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 north Sixth Street, Rochelle. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
