Boys travel basketball tryouts Nov. 9

ROCHELLE -- The Rochelle Boys Travel Basketball program will have tryouts for boys in fifth through eighth grades. The tryouts will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9 at Rochelle Township High School.

ROCHELLE -- With a shot at a conference championship on the line, the Hub freshman football team defeated the Sterling Golden Warriors 46-18 on Monday night at home.Both teams are now 7-1 on the season, while Rochelle is 4-0 against NIB-12 Western Division opponents.

FREEPORT -- The Rochelle Hub boy's varsity soccer season came to an end on Tuesday in the first round of the regional tournament, after host Freeport shut out Rochelle 3-0.
Freeport will move on to play Sterlng in the finals, while the Hubs end the year with a 10-8-2 overall record.

DEKALB -- Sophomore quarterback Drew Hare gained 180 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns and threw for 185 yards on 12-of-16 passing with a touchdown as NIU earned a 51-41 victory over Miami (Ohio) Saturday at Huskie Stadium.

ROCHELLE -- Registration for the fourth annual Rochelle Turkey Trot 5K event on Thanksgiving Day is now taking place at the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District office.
This "no frills" 5K run/walk helps raise money for the Rochelle Area Community Foundation.

STEWARD -- On Sept. 25, the Steward Eagles participated in the Meridian Conference volleyball tournament and brought home a first place title.
