Lady Hub relay team qualifies for state

GALENA -- Two months ago, three members of the Lady Hub track team's 4x400 relay squad competed in their first high school track meet.
Friday, the quartet of Lexie Watson, Franny Vardman, Morgan Baker and Jacie Wyatt qualified for state.
The team's time of 4:05.86 ranked ninth in the state and vaulted the Lady Hubs to the state semi-finals.

STERLING -- Rain forced Thursday's baseball game between Rochelle Township High School and Sterling to be completed Friday after only three innings had been completed.
The Hubs led 1-0 during the overnight break and picked up right where they left off, beating the Warriors 4-0.

Hub fishermen place sixth at state

Out of the 69 teams competing in the weekend's state bass fishing competition, only four caught more fish than Rochelle Township High School's squad of Preston Turner and David Eychaner. Wilkinson wins Ronde Barber charity golf event

TAMPA, Fla. -- Rochelle Township High School graduate Andrew Wilkinson participated in the third annual Ronde Barber Charity Golf Classic in Tampa, Fla. The event benefitted diabetic charitable services and was played on the par 72 Island Course at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.

Hubs relay team surges at home meet

ROCHELLE -- Levi Johnson, Matthew Drendel, Edwin Infante and Lance Huftalin had an impressive Tuesday afternoon, winning a pair of relays at the Rochelle JV Invite.
