ROCHELLE — After a month of growing accustomed to the area, new State Representative Tom Demmer officially set his roots in “Hub City” Friday afternoon with his district office ribbon cutting ceremony.

Many local politicians and community leaders, including Senator Tim Bivins, Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson and other representatives from the City of Rochelle showed support for Demmer.

“This is my pleasure to introduce a man that I’ve known for 22 years,” said Bivins. “He knows the current issues really well and this area is in good hands.”

Peggy Friday, representing the Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce also spoke highly of Demmer.

“We’re proud to have him here in Rochelle. He’s a politician with good ideas,” she said.
