Skydivers launch from hot air balloon

As the country celebrated our independence from Great Britain over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Chicagoland Skydiving Center hosted an Independence Boogie. Starting on Wednesday, July 1 skydivers and passengers had the opportunity to leave the drop zone in a hot air balloon and view Rochelle outside of the basket.

State budget cuts could affect local senior citizens

Local skydiver wins national championships

Oswego resident Pawel Piotrowski, who trains at the Chicagoland Skydive Center on the weekends, won gold in the canopy piloting competition at the U.S. Parachute Association National Parachuting Championships that completed recently at Skydive Paraclete XP in Raeford, N.C. Piotrowski won gold in the speed event, as well as silver in the distance event.

Homes sales up in Ogle County, state

OGLE COUNTY -- The once-sluggish housing market is seeing improvement in Illinois this year, including Ogle County.

Flanagan named new director
