Area residents, equine group help local woman get her horses back on track after tornado

Boy, grandpa help save day for neighbor

First tornado relief grants given out

ROCHELLE ­-- On Friday, July 17, board members of the Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) came together to approve over $24,000 in tornado relief grants to local families affected by the April 9 storms. These funds mark the first distribution of over $300,000 raised since the storms tore through the region and damaged many homes in the Rochelle area.

ROCHELLE -- Local student Alexia Thiem caught the attention of the American Library of Poetry for her poem, "No More F4," written about the tornado that hit the Rochelle and Fairdale areas in April.
